This is a problem for me. Most nights I send the boys down stairs and say, get ready for bed. When I come down and they are in some mode of partial undress, messing around, I get upset. There’s a balance. I want them to do what they’re told when they’re told to do it. But sometimes, I need to be right there making sure that they’re doing it.
Your bigtime wife is far too profound for me. I will need interpretation if I’m going to benefit from this tip.
Mmm, I love this one. I’m passing this on to Tom.. esp true regarding 2 year olds and jobs to be done in the bathroom.
Phil, it just means if kids learn that you’re not going to check on what you tell them to do, they might figure out that they don’t need to do it.

Good tip.
